ECE TECH TALKS
A Conversation with Steven W. McLaughlin, Georgia Institute of Technology
In today's episode, brought to you by Texas Instruments, hosts Barry Sullivan and John Janowiak sit down with longtime ECEDHA friend and supporter, Steven McLaughlin, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Georgia Tech.
Steve first joined Georgia Tech in 1996 and has since held many leadership roles, including Steve W. Chaddick Chair in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). In 2014, he co-founded CREATE-X, a campus-wide effort to instill entrepreneurial confidence in students and help them launch companies. His research interests include the general area of communications and information theory. His group has published more than 250 papers in journals and conferences and holds 36 U.S. patents.
Tune in today as we learn more about Steve's background as an engineer, the ways Georgia Tech has pivoted amid COVID (including a homegrown surveillance testing program and a new face shield design), and the ongoing work towards diversity, equity and inclusion.
